The US will soon compel pharmaceutical companies to prescribe the price of medicines in television advertising, a measure of “historic transparency” as qualified by President Donald Trump.
The move is part of a US government policy to combat drug pricing, often higher in the US than in neighboring states, Canada and Mexico.
Price should appear at the end of advertisements coupled with the side effects that are already mandatory to mention. In the US, medication advertises every day TV space on the small screen.
The binding measure, which will be implemented within 60 days, includes medicines lower than $ 35 for normal or monthly treatment, follow up.
“American patients have the right to be informed about the price of medications they receive,” said Secretary of Health Alex Azar.
